(including meals) are
available in all price ranges and experiential levels. You may choose to stay
with an indigenous family for the most in-depth cultural experience, or you
may choose to stay at one of several hotels (inns, posadas, hostels) located
here in the village. (See Below)
Home
Stay: Each of our home stay
residences have been selected and approved as offering an indigenous experience
while maintaining standards of cleanliness and comfort. Specific details available
upon request.
Camping
Sal Itza: A small family-run
"camping" located on the hillside overlooking the lake and consisting
of shared tipico-style bungalows with beds and hammocks. Vegetarian and tipico
(including fish and chicken) cuisine.
John's
Lodge: Hostel located in the
village center offering shared rooms. Tipico and continental cuisine.
Casa
Roja : Lakeside Mayan style
bungalows of stone and thatch. Docks, diving platforms, kayaks. Dining room
offers superb vegetarian cuisine and juice bar. English spoken.
The
Mayan Princess: Small
comfortable hotel located in the village center. Movies shown nightly. Restaurant
features varied American menu. Lake and Jungle Tours offered. English spoken.
Gringo
Perdido: Bungalows, dormitories
and luxury rooms on the lakeside. Docks, diving platforms, boat, jacuzzi.
Restaurant serves tipico cuisine.
La Mansion del Pajaro Serpiente:
Luxury accommodations on the hillside overlooking the lake. Extensive gardens,
